Natures Powerful Remedies @Lana Essential oils

Our Favourite and Best Products We Love (and Use So Carefully!) At the heart of everything we do is a deep appreciation for nature’s powerful remedies. There are a few products we hold especially close — not only because of their incredible benefits, but because they’ve earned a place in our daily lives. These are the treasures we reach for, time and time again, using them with love and care. Let us introduce you to our all-time favourites: 🌿 Lavender Gentle, calming, and beautifully fragrant — lavender is our go-to for relaxation. Whether it’s in a diffuser to soothe a long day, added to a bath, or blended into a skincare routine, this timeless essential oil never fails to bring balance and peace. 🌱 Tea Tree This mighty oil is our skincare superhero. With its natural antibacterial and antifungal properties, tea tree is a staple for keeping skin clear and fresh. We love it for spot treatments, scalp care, and even for freshening up household surfaces. 🍋 Lemongrass Fresh, citrusy, an...

Lemongrass from zero to hero!

I remember when I first started dabbling in essential oils. My late husband’s son, David, had ringworm on his head and neck. Determined to take care of it naturally and avoid a trip to the doctor, I decided to try lemongrass essential oil. Back then, I didn’t know about carrier oils. So I applied the lemongrass oil directly to his scalp. Big mistake. Within seconds, poor David was running around the house screaming, his head on fire from the burn. I was panicking, he was in pain, and the only thing I could think to do was shove him in the shower and run cold water over his head. I laugh about it now (and thankfully, so did he—eventually), but at the time it was a hard lesson. That day taught me one very important thing: never use essential oils undiluted . Now, years later, I look back and realize how far I’ve come. I’ve not only educated myself on the proper use of essential oils, but I’ve also started my own product line— and yes , everything is now blended with a carrier oil. Trust...

Unpacking back ache

Unpacking was a total time waster and body ache. We are finally settled and a little bit more to take care of but here we are. Its going to take some getting used to but it might be with it in the end. We have cut down considerably, such as down to 1 car, no Fibre internet line, no coffee nook vibes but the yard is extended to Lana who chases dogs and tortoises 🌼 She is more scared of them, than them of her. Lana Essential Oils is still boosting with favour, and well my mom is still planning my curtains, thank God. Hubby has needed time to settle in too, where he works full time and I choose my hours.  We are settled, for now. Trying hard to find a special corner for a read or chat and well the shower is shitty but we giving it our best. Back on track with my long hair😉 Still mixing blends and still finding peace. Until we see you on the big stage. Gills

Lemongrassy much?!

It has worked beautifully. Our lemongrass blend with the exception of yesterday has grown my hair out of the pixie and in to a thingamajig where believe it or not it is long and manageable and cute. I did not iron it out but the length is a few days away of revealing the true powerful blend at Lana Essential oils.  My hair was thirsty and dehydrated and using the product has brought back my natural look which is thick and long. After we settle  in our new home, my ability to get back into enhancing our products seem rather fit after this last revelation.  Ready when you are! Love Lana and me🥰

Dean Lewis and Cake Batter

Image
Here I am, Dean Lewis playing on repeat, and I’m in the middle of my first cake order in almost eight years. I didn’t see it coming—a phone call from someone I met two years ago, who remembered that I bake. Just like that, I’m back in the kitchen, apron on, heart wide open. The cakes are cooling now, while I’m lying here next to my girl, still lost in the music. It’s wild how things come full circle. I’ve fallen in love with many things in my life, but this—baking, creating—this is my first true love. Making something with my hands, something sweet, something joyful. A recipe passed down through time, filled with memory and care. I realized tonight that music and baking are the first true compositions of my life. Both nostalgic. Both creative. I remember hearing the radio for the first time—how explosive it felt. Boyz II Men, Sunday morning tracks, and the way lyrics and drums sank deep into my bones. That same feeling hits me when I bake. The warm vanilla scent floating through the a...

Lana Essential Oils: The Butterfly Range

Image
🌿 Hello Everyone! It’s me again, bringing you something truly special from our Lana Essential Oils Butterfly collection. Today, I’m introducing you to a beautiful creation that I’ve named the Scrub Muthi — and trust me, you’ll want to know all about it! ✨ What is Muthi? Muthi is a Zulu (and broader Nguni) word that traditionally means “medicine,” but its roots go far deeper in Southern African cultures. Muthi can refer to herbal remedies and spiritual medicine used in healing, cleansing, and protection rituals. It’s a term that speaks to holistic wellness — body, mind, and spirit. 🧼 Why Scrub Muthi? I called this one Scrub Muthi because it’s a divine body, feet, and hand scrub — an everyday blessing for those who can’t use bath salts because you only have a shower , not a bathtub . I was literally up at 10 PM packing this, thinking about YOU — the ones who want the magic without needing to soak. This scrub is more than exfoliation — it’s transformation . We’ve just had a break...

Testimony here at Lana Essential Oils: Lemon Long hair, and Muscle Recovery

I’m over the moon to finally share something I’ve been working on and loving every step of the way — The Lemongrass Castor Oil Blend by Lana Essential Oils ! It’s only been eight days since I started this journey, and I couldn’t wait any longer to tell you how it’s going. Spoiler alert: I’m obsessed. Day One – April 10, 2025 I began with a small marble-sized amount of the oil, applying it faithfully every morning to the back, middle, and front of my hair. It became a ritual — me, my coffee, and this amazing blend. After applying, I’d pop on my woolen cap (yes, pretty much a winter cap!) and go about my day. The wool cap creates gentle heat that helps the oil work its magic. Before showering, I brush out my hair to let it breathe. I still follow my regular shampoo routine — no conditioner — and I use a serum for heat protection. The Results So Far Let me tell you… The shine is phenomenal! After just eight days, I blow-dried my hair and couldn’t believe how healthy, glossy, and nourish...

Intermittent Fasting - Habit?

It’s become a habit now — this fasting, this rhythm. I’m not even sure how I fell into it. There was no grand decision or dramatic health kick. It just… happened. And now it’s a pattern I follow more out of familiarity than intention. But — and it’s a big but — I just want breakfast. Not the classic eggs and bacon, not even toast. Toast tastes awful lately. Actually, any flour-based food has this strange, almost chemical taste to me now. Like I can taste the starch itself. Bread, pasta, all of it — it’s as if my palate has turned against it. Instead, I lean on fruit. Bananas, mostly. Maybe my body’s craving potassium or fibre. Grapes are okay too. Yoghurt? It goes down, but just barely. Same with cereal — Weet-Bix or Cornflakes, the kind of food that’s bland, easy, and quiet. Marshmallows are oddly fine too, though I know they’re just sugar. And tea. Tea is comforting. Coffee, sometimes. But water? Water I can always do. No matter how I feel, water just makes sense. Meat, though —...

When interviews lead to silence - Ghosted?

I’ve been for three interviews in the past few months — all with promising prospects. On paper, I’m highly qualified. I even considered accepting a lower salary , just for the opportunity to get my foot in the door and start contributing again. Life is on the brink of a new chapter for me, and I’m ready to show up, work hard, and grow in a new direction. But from March until now , silence. Not a word from any of them. I want to be honest here — I live with diabetes, and over time, it’s taken a toll on my health, including my teeth. It's something I’m very aware of. Still, I present myself professionally — I dress well, I do my hair, and I carry myself with pride. Yet, after each interview, I’m left wondering… Are companies really looking for someone effective, or are they looking for someone who looks like a model? This thought sits heavy with me. It’s painful to be ghosted — not just because it feels disrespectful, but because it chips away at the hope you carry into every int...

A day in the life of Lana and I - For now

Image
Thinking of vlogging this — but we’ll see how long I’m actually at home for! Here’s a little look at a typical day in the life of me and my sidekick, Lana. Lana acts as my alarm clock, bright and early at 5 AM, calling for breakfast. I get her sorted, make myself a coffee, and settle down with my laptop to check emails, hunt for new jobs online, and maybe even squeeze in a little blogging if I'm feeling inspired. By 7 AM, I decide whether to work a bit on Lana Essential Oils — updating statuses and getting people interested in the products. Around 7:45 AM, it’s time for a bathroom break. I tackle my rather furry hair, brush my teeth (if I remember!), make the bed (if my husband’s already left for work), and clean upstairs for a bit. By 9 AM, I head downstairs for a glass of water and something small to eat, usually a banana and a muffin to break my fast. Around 10 AM, I check what we’re short of and plan what’s on the menu for lunch or dinner, depending on my husband’s schedule. F...

Rest, do not quit!

When business is slow, it doesn't mean people don’t want to purchase from you. It simply means they do — just when they have the means to. This morning, I woke up with a thought so clear: Rest, do not quit . Especially on the days when business feels quiet and still. Some days, the sales will come flowing in. Other days, it will feel silent. And that's okay. Lana Essential Oils holds a very special place in my heart. I am deeply committed to building a brand where people feel empowered, revitalized, and energized to give it a try. Whether you’re going through a sad moment and need a "lift me up" oil, or you're dealing with period cramps or just feeling low, I want you to feel supported. I’m not here to tell anyone how the products will work for them — that's why I offer samples. I believe everyone should experience it for themselves. What I do know, from using the oils personally for myself and my husband, is that the results have been absolutely amazing. They...

Lana Essential Bath Salts🫂🥰

Image
Look — I’m not obsessed with many things, but this has me absolutely hooked! I'm so obsessed that I’m already dreaming up a bath bar with these natural products. I personally try every product for the final touch, not because I doubt their quality, but because I believe in experiencing them myself — to truly feel and share the magic. And let me tell you about these bath salts I sold just yesterday: when I dipped into that bath, it wasn’t just soothing — it was transformative. I didn’t even want to get out! Just a tablespoon of these salts in your bath as the water runs, and your entire bathroom fills with the most beautiful peppermint and lavender steam. It's pure bliss. As we move forward, I’ve become even more of a go-getter when it comes to creating — molding, and packaging soap bars for those who need it most, especially in the shower. (Yes, Soap on a Rope is happening!) 🎺🔔 I’m so excited about this blend that I’m practically blowing trumpets and ringing bells for...

Update on Intermittent Fasting Day 12 : Yipee!

Wow! I have to say, this journey has truly taken me for a ride. From battling cravings to overcoming the habit of late-night snacking in bed, every day has been a learning curve. But here I am — Day 12 , and I couldn't be more excited for the progress I've made. One of the most remarkable changes is the boost in my energy levels. I feel like a new person! My body has adjusted, and my energy is stable throughout the day. I'm no longer sluggish, and the dreaded afternoon crash is nowhere to be found. Even my sleeping pattern has improved — my sleep is lighter, and I wake up feeling more refreshed with a significantly emptier stomach . Adapting to my husband's schedule has been a challenge at times, especially since I didn’t want him eating alone. But, surprisingly, the bloating in my stomach has gone down significantly, and I can actually see a flatter tummy . My sides have been reshaped, and I can even see my ankles again (yes, a small win, but a big deal!). What I did...

Using Lemongrass Lana Essential Blend 30 day challenge

Hello beautiful people, Selling Lana Essentials products has been such a blessing — not just because of the amazing oils, but because of the incredible people I’m meeting along the way. Every day I’m giving it my best, and yes... I definitely smell like an essential oil factory most of the time. But honestly? It’s so worth it. Today, though, I’m not just here to talk about the hustle. I’m kicking off something new and personal: Day 1 of my lemongrass essential oil hair growth journey ! Here’s the plan: I took a picture of my hair today to mark the starting point. I’ll be applying our special Lana  Lemongrass Essential Blend daily for the next 30 days . This blend isn’t just lemongrass — it’s made with pure, hexane-free, 100% pure castor oil and a powerful mix of essential oils designed to promote growth and strength . No fancy measuring — I’m just trusting the process and looking for authentic results. This morning, I massaged the blend into my roots, then covered ...

Navigating "the episode"

Last week, I found myself with not much to write about, mainly because I had a dip in my mood, and emotions overwhelmed me considerably. Sometimes, healing takes time. It's a slow and steady process, and for me, this meant dealing with a variety of personal challenges that were all happening at once. Being at home, sorting out logistics for earning an income, going through interviews, and even dealing with a miscommunication with my landlord all led to some serious setbacks. It felt like a lot, and to make things even more complex, I was determined to keep my emotions in check for my doggie, Lana, so she wouldn’t feel my stress. Lana, bless her, was just the sweetest during what I’ve started calling “the episode.” She always seems to know when I need her the most. In the middle of everything, I was practicing the hoponopono method, trying to release negative energy and make peace. But I was also becoming increasingly aware of the karmic cycle of my life and the lessons I was suppo...
