Flip the script
You know when you're about to give up on something—a relationship, a friendship, or maybe a situationship? It feels like you're stuck in a loop of not being able to have what you want. This year, I learned something transformative about assumptions, resistance, and detachment.
First, let's talk about resistance and the phrase, "I don't want something." It's strange but true: the more we resist something, the more it seems to persist in our lives. When you declare you don't want something, your energy and focus align with that thing, pulling it closer to you. So why not flip the script? Resist the things you do want—and in doing so, trick your mind into letting go of the need for them. This leads to the second realization: detachment.
Detachment is not about giving up; it's about freeing yourself from the pressure of needing a specific outcome. When you can detach, you’re not tied to whether or not you achieve a particular goal—and ironically, that’s when things start to flow your way. Think of it like this: if I say, "I don’t want a million dollars," I’m approaching it with the mindset that I already have it. The same applies to relationships, jobs, or anything else. This mindset shift is rooted in abundance rather than lack.
Manifestation becomes powerful when you focus on already having what you desire. For instance, say, "I don’t want the man in my life because I already have him," and then let it go. Release it completely. This isn’t about playing games with the universe; it’s about truly believing in your core that your desires are already fulfilled.
Here’s why this works: when you resist needing something, you reduce the desperation and clinginess that can block it from coming to you. What you resist persists, yes—but only because your focus keeps it alive. By detaching and affirming that you already have what you seek, you shift your energy to a place of abundance and ease.
So, here’s the key: be specific about your desired outcomes, affirm them as already achieved, and then let them go. Say, "I don’t want the job because I already have it." Or, "I don’t want the money in my bank account because it’s already there." The universe responds to the certainty and confidence in your statements, not the doubt and fear.
This approach won’t resonate with everyone, and that’s okay. The art of manifestation and detachment needs to feel right for you, aligning with your heart and intuition. But if it does resonate, try it out. Let go of resistance, embrace detachment, and trust in the power of your mind to bring everything you want into your reality—one step at a time.
