Miss Fluffs and Pete's sake

Heatwaves, Diwali Joys, and the Simple Pleasures of Life

It’s been a scorcher of a few days—heatwaves in November are never a welcome surprise, especially when you’re glued to the fan both day and night. In fact, I can’t seem to escape the heat, even with my mini desk fan working overtime. I can barely move from my desk, but somehow, Miss Fluffs—aka Lana—has found a way to be all over me, even in this blistering heat. She’s constantly trying to steal my Mexican Chilli Crisps while I’m trying to type my blog. I mean, really? It’s a heatwave, not playtime.

But no, Lana insists on making my life a little more chaotic, despite the heat. She’s sprawled out on my keyboard, with her teething tyre in one paw, making my bed her personal jungle gym. I’m doing my best to type faster, but the keyboard is practically sizzling from the heat, and I’m trying to juggle everything at once. I rarely cook heavy meals in summer, so I keep things light and easy. I tend to cook at night when the temperature cools down, and then I sit back, and relax with the fan blowing from the highway, letting the sun warm my arm for that hour-long journey home.

Then, it’s Lana’s turn for some evening entertainment. Bath time, tug of war, a solid hour of chaos before I even think about what’s next. Do I hit the gym or eat? Gym is my meditation, but let’s be honest—food is life. The gym is life, but the food is a good life. LOL.

I absolutely adore my day shifts at work, though. I get to come home and do whatever I want, cleaning a little, laughing a little, and just celebrating the gift of a puppy and life in general. And let’s talk about Diwali! The Diwali boxes were a huge hit today. I couldn’t help but smile when my manager told me it didn’t make it home with him. That little moment of joy made the day feel special. I was content—almost content enough to call it perfect.

Today was one of those days when everything just clicked. The kind of day where you smile all the way home, basking in the joy of good vibes. It was invigorating, and peaceful, and made me appreciate the little things. Life is what you make of it, and today, I’m reminded to be grateful for all the good that surrounds me.

Sending you some sake of Pete's, a little laughter, and all the summer warmth to brighten your day!

Love,
G xxx
